The McDade Family

My photo
Hi! Our names are Shannon, Mark and Summer McDade. We are a family of three wanting to expand our family through adoption. We were planning to adopt from Taiwan, but the wait has helped us change countries to Ethiopia. God has a purpose foreverything and we are going to stay faithful and follow Him.

Dossier is in Washington,DC

Well, this morning I heard from my social worker that our dossier just got back to DC and missed the pickup to Ethiopia. So our dossier is being sent out to Ethiopia next Friday. I wish it was already there in Ethiopia so we could start getting looked at for a possible match. It took us almost four months to get everything changed from Taiwan to Ethiopia. I wish it doesn't have to take so long to get things going. What else can you do? So we wait again.....

Mark and I have been busy lately will we wait for our dossier to get to Ethiopia. We moved Summer upstairs to her new bedroom next to Connor's room. We want her to get used to being upstairs before he gets here. We didn't want her to get scared and make him scared too. However, she has done great. She likes being upstairs next to his room and their playroom. We painted her room and it looks more like a big girls room. So she is happy. We are all happy.....

We have had some snow here in Somerville, Tn lately. Lots of fun playing in the snow. Summer likes to make snow angels and sledding.

Summer had fun playing in the snow. She kept asking, "Does it snow in Africa where Connor is?" I don't think so, I told her. When he gets here that they will be able to play in the snow together. She just smiled and said, "I wish he was here now." I know, we all wish he was here now with us. It won't be long and he will be. We just have to be patient and wait on God's timing.

I have been reading some books lately to keep my mind busy while waiting for our dossier to get to Ethiopia. One book is Radical by
David Platt. It really makes you think about what it takes to
really follow Jesus. Are you being disciples that would give up everything for the gospel? The disciples that followed Jesus were radical. They would abandon everything for the gospel. It is a good, but at times scary book that makes you look at your own life and wonder what have I been doing? I am taking on the Radical Experiment for one year and I hope to see a change...
